Choreographic plays, inspired recitals or music from far afield (Ivette Cepeda, Legends of Cuba), exhibitions, haute couture venues with Korean telepresence, entertainments associating digital arts and more traditional disciplines, a new season opens in the Centre des arts. The centre invites artists who knew how to discover new artistic continents, like Karl Bartos from Kraftwerk and artists investigating possibilities such as Pierre Giner. The Classics are present, tied to the Foundation Royaumont, then later to the soprano Sandrine Piau. The past and present have been reconciled here. The Centre des arts also has a tremendous ambition for 2011, with new family engagements. This greater attention towards families works in accordance to an adapted tariff policy, workshops dedicated to visual arts and cinema, on weekends, including educational work for a new connection with live performances.
Another innovation, an invitation made to a film director for a rare sharing moment. For the opening season, a meeting and a reconciliation of arts and nanosciences, in a world where science attracts mistrust, it appears to be an amazing stake for the present. Because a shared opinion would like to see, in the technical and digital technology age, the world’s disillusion, artists welcomed to Enghien-les-Bains in 2011-2012 have the ambition to re-enchant it. They are proposing a new intimacy in face of imposed transparency. Creation questions and outlines, on its level, ethics for these new digital customs.

The Centre des arts opens its 9th season and launches its new web site in another dimension, offering to those who want, to assist performances in " streaming "or even to allow downloading by Internet. Our goal is to contribute to the extension of the audience of programmed artists on a global scale and to privilege an access with no boundaries for those whose geographical and physical distance does not allow attending these shows. This experience starts with an exclusive presentation of the Cuban singer Ivette Cepeda, «the Centre des arts’s revelation for 2011", and as if the artistic and public adventures almost seem to be one and the same, each spectator will have the privilege to get at the end of the concert, a signed CD. October promises us a journey through 2011, a third space odyssey, a telepresence one, where people can live an original live experience of a high fashion show, connecting Seoul and Enghien-les-Bains through a screen. This presentation is extended by a Korean choreographic creation for the Official opening ceremony, need one be reminded, of the 6th “Hors les murs” Bains Numériques festival. In September, the Centre des arts improves its technological competencies, with the inauguration of its digital studio. This new tool becomes a pole of audiovisual creation in HD, capable of performing recordings of artist’s live concerts. But let’s get back to this season 2011/2012, which wants to be digital, festive, recreational, and scholarly with a programming where children will have the leading role.
Our world’s requirements, and the opening of our Sunday’s creative workshops, mark the transition from studio to live, workshops to museums. We hope to give families a better access to artistic practices, highlighting the experimentation of new practices and particularly those related from a better shared culture. These meetings will approach, every month, a new field of digital technology expression, stemming from cinema, dance and plastic arts, around the season topics, such as this autumns exhibition focusing on arts and nanosciences.
